J Biol Rhythms 2005; 20:391-403. • In this study, cross-talk between all the members of the Rev-erb and ROR family was illustrated by studying Bmal1 transcription. These nuclear receptors recognize the same response element in the promoter of the Bmal1 gene but exert opposite effects on its transcription. This cross-talk suggests a fine-tuned regulation of Bmal1 gene expression and indicates that all members of the Rev-erb and ROR families are crucial components of the molecular circadian clock.
