Tolterodine was statistically superior to placebo in reducing urge incontinence, and retention was reported in only one patient treated with anticholinergics.

In this open-label study, men with LUTS refractory to α-adrenergic antagonists were treated with extended-release tolterodine. Impressive improvements in the AUA symptom score were observed without negatively impacting flow rates and PVR.
