    • A pre-polymerization mixture (50 mM phosphate buffer pH 7.4, 7.2 mL) containing a template protein (7.5 μmol), a functional monomer (acrylic acid or 2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate 0.15 mmol), glycosyloxyethyl methacrylate (1.35 mmol) and methylene bis(acrylamide) (1.5 mmol), was purged with nitrogen gas for 5 min, then, an initiator, VA-080 was added and polymerization was initiated by irradiating UV light for 18 h at 4°C. NIP was prepared by the same way without the template protein. The resulting polymer was ground to a fine powder and washed with 0.5 M NaCl to remove the template protein. Further acrylic acid-based polymers were washed with 1 M HCl and 2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate-based polymers were washed with 1 M NaOH
