In the case of a very fast flow or noninteracting atoms, v0/cs=a, the Bogoliubov dispersion reduces to the free particle one ω(k)= â. k2/2m and the locus of excited Bogoliubov modes is a ring of radius |k0|. For a weak defect of strength C, the stationary state is Ï(x,t)=[eik0x+C|x|eik0|x|]e-iω0t and the density perturbation consists of a series of parabolic wave fronts r2=N2λ02- 2Nλ0z (the integer N≥0, v0=v0z^ and λ0=2Ï€/k0) due to interference of the incident and the scattered matter waves.
