    • Enzymatic assays: NADH (0.2 mM), dihydroxyacetone phosphate and the inhibitor were dissolved in a 50-mM Tris-HCl buffer, pH 7.4 (final volume: 1 mL), at 25 °C. The reaction was started by addition of the enzyme (GPDH from rabbit muscle, Sigma) and the UV absorbance at 340 nm was monitored on a spectrophotometer as a function of time.
