Chem., 76, 475 (1972), show that the tunneling distance x(E) depends on the square root of the dielectric constant, ε The tunneling probability, T(E), is then proportional to exp(—Kx(E)) where K involves other terms. As εTio2 >10εsnO2, 7(E) will be significantly lower for TiO2 than for SnO2.
