This is the only paper in the literature about the combined use of contrast-enhanced color Doppler-targeted biopsy (CECD) and systematic transrectal gray scale ultrasound-guided biopsy for the prostate cancer detection in men with prostate specific antigen (PSA) 4-10 ng/ml. The combined use of the two methods allowed for maximal detection of prostate cancer with a detection rate of 37.6% in patients with PSA 4-10 ng/ml.
