    • Elemental analyses of the vacuum dried gold NPs for C, N and Au were respectively 8.9, 1.6, 0.65 and 83.64% and did not sum to 100%. Air dried NPs contain more carbon (31.66%) and hydrogen (4.55%) as would be expected from nitrogen (0.65%) content and was ascribe to some degree to the presence of mesitylene molecules.
