30. In this letter 'cis' and 'trans' are used to show the relative position of phenyl groups connected to the amide group. The designation can be easily understood at a glance; although, ordinarily, 'cis-amide' and 'trans-amide' should be named (E)- and (Z)-amide, respectively.
