13. In our previous study dealing with phosphorylation of benzylic alcohols by P(III) chlorides, we have found that compounds formed from alcohols containing the donor substituents in the meta-position of the aromatic ring are stable, while analogues with para-substituents undergo decomposition on standing. To exclude such drawback and to obtain stable ligands in the work cited in Ref. [5] and in the present paper we used either non-substituted or meta-substituted fluorinated benzylic alcohols.
