6. 2 (25 mL) and water (25 mL) were added. The organic layer was separated and concentrated. The resulting dark oil was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluted with n-heptane/ethyl acetate gradient to yield the desired product as an oil or a solid. The lower amounts of catalyst (2 wt %) work equally well, especially with EW-substituted bromoaryl derivatives.
