    • One should not conclude from this discussion that a massless scalar field would cause a repulsion between finite identical plates; indeed, such a field would cause an attractive force. The apparent tension with the discussion in the main text is an order of limits issue: the first limit we took in the argument 2 3 4 5 6 7 is that the plates were infinite in extent, and this limit interacts oddly with the zero-mass limit for the scalar.
