    • Simple propagation requires that a single active node is sufficient to activate a neighbor. In a network where all agents have the same degree 〈 k 〉, simple propagation is observed if threshold T ≤ 1 / 〈 k 〉. A general expression for random networks with arbitrary degree distributions can be found in Ref. [13].

    • It is worth noting that the measure we have introduced gives only an estimation of the critical threshold. For example, the critical threshold for the two-dimensional lattice with nearest neighbor interaction is 0.25, while the estimator gives 0.5.
