This is because comparisons can then be made between many different types of experiments. In addition, the problem of decoupling of viscosity from structural relaxation near [formula omitted] (Ref. 4) can be avoided. It is to be noted that where there appear to be some 16 decades of variation in ζ between [formula omitted] and infinite temperature, there are 17 decades of [formula omitted] due to the temperature dependence of the proportionality factor [formula omitted] (the high frequency shear modulus)
