1. "RLG Conspectus" in this chapter refers to the original version of the Conspectus developed by members of the Research Libraries Group, or RLG. "WLN Conspectus" refers to the version that members of the Western Library Network adapted based on the RLG Conspectus. Members of the WLN are mostly non-research libraries in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. When neither "RLG" nor "WLN" modifies the "Conspectus," it refers to both versions. Also, many authors do not capitalize this word, others do so only when it refers to the RLG or WLN Conspectus. In this paper, Conspectus is capitalized when it refers to a CA methodology, but not capitalized when it refers to an analysis of a subject classification (Music conspectus, for example) or call number range of a library collection.
