What surgical resection margins are required to achieve oncological control in men with primary penile cancer?
-
Minhas S, Kayes O, Hegarty P, et al. What surgical resection margins are required to achieve oncological control in men with primary penile cancer? BJU Int 2005; 96:1040-1043. This paper shows that the conventional 2 cm margin of resection is not necessary for oncological control. In 51 patients, 48% had margins of less than 1 cm and 90% less than 2 cm. Only two local recurrences were found only in the high-grade tumours.

Surgical treatment of Peyronie's disease: A critical analysis
-
Kadioglu A, Akman T, Sanli O, et al. Surgical treatment of Peyronie's disease: a critical analysis. Eur Urol 2006; 50:235-248. This paper looks at the indications and types of surgical operations for Peyronie's disease. There is a critical analysis of all of the Nesbit-type operations as well as the grafting techniques. The indications for a penile prosthesis insertion and the modelling technique are described.

Plaque incision and fascia lata grafting in the surgical management of Peyronie's disease
-
Kalsi JS, Christopher N, Ralph DJ, Minhas S. Plaque incision and fascia lata grafting in the surgical management of Peyronie's disease. BJU Int 2006; 98:110-115. A small series of patients having human fascia lata were used as a graft substitute for Peyronie's disease. The results were comparable to vein and the authors advocate its use because of the availability of the synthetic material.
