It is known, from a variety of experiments [e.g., Fong, Phys. Rev. B PRBMDO 0163-1829 10.1103/PhysRevB.61.14773 61, 14773 (2000)], that there is an increase of AF correlations in the pseudogap if the temperature T is reduced. However, this effect has been detected experimentally in the low-doping regime, especially for dopings where at low T the AF phase appears. We neglect in our discussion the direct influence of antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations. As discussed in Sec. 1, they may, however, be indirectly incorporated in the effective next-neighbor d x2 - y2 -pairing interaction used in our BCS-like model [Eqs. 1 2 3 4].
