If we formally treat D-1 as a small parameter, it might be possible to study the stability of the Luttinger liquid fixed point by means of an expansion in powers of =D-1. Previously, K. Ueda and T. 87. In deriving Eqs. d4.33 d4.35, we have set the fixed point value r * of the relevant coupling r l equal to zero, which amounts to a redefinition of the bare coupling constant. Otherwise, r * would explicitly appear in Eqs. d4.33 d4.35. Setting r *=0 seems to correspond to the usual normal ordering with respect to the filled Dirac sea in the solution of the TLM via bosonization. In general, the functional dependence of η on the interaction beyond the leading term in the weak coupling expansion depends on the regularization procedure; see H. J. Schulz and B. S. Shastry, Phys.
