    • 2O molecules in neighboring crystal asymmetric units are sterically isolated from each other [3]. The β‐CD molecule carries 21 OH groups, of which only five have an ordered H position. The other 16 exhibit dynamic orientational disorder (“flip‐flop” disorder [2]). Of these 16 disordered OH groups, four are hydrogen‐bonded only to other OH groups and are consequently not directly accessible to water molecules.
