    • The terminology “meso” relates to the different configurations of two helical units in one molecule and corresponds to the nomenclature that was introduced for compounds with two chiral centers and one mirror plane (see: meso‐ and rac‐tartaric acid).

    • 2 (SHELXL‐93), hydrogens were introduced in their calculated positions and refined isotropically as riding atoms, hydrogens of the crystalline water molecules were not located from the difference Fourier map. Three out of six DMF molecules were disordered and the main orientation was 53% for each. The disordered DMF molecules were refined by using geometrical restraints, where one non‐disordered DMF molecule served as a structural model. The figures were drawn with the SCHAKAL program. Further details of the X‐ray crystal structure analysis are available upon request from the Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe, D‐76344 Eggenstein‐Leopoldshafen (Germany), on quoting the depository number CSD‐401879.
