note
-
This study was a response to the scarcity of ethnographic literature on refugees' experiences of resettlement, and in particular of the experiences of HIV positive refugees. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 15 refugees. It examines the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of HIV positive refugees but also endeavours to investigate the intersection of the experiences of being a refugee and being HIV positive, and how that produces and shapes the potentials and constraints of their lives. The study was funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand.
