This, the largest retrospective series of women with surgically staged stage I uterine cancer, supports the benefits of adjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy and vaginal apex brachytherapy in the routine management of early stage UPSC. The only stage I patients who did not appear to require adjuvant chemotherapy were those who had no residual disease in the hysterectomy specimen.
