Treatment of painful pseudoparesis due to irreparable rotator cuff dysfunction with the Delta III reverse-ball-and-socket total shoulder prosthesis. J Bone Joint Surg Am 2005; 87A:1476-1486. This large series reports the significant improvement in pain relief and improved function obtained by reverse replacement. It also highlights the potential problems and reports a high scapular notch incidence and complication rate.

A minimum two-year follow-up study of sixty patients. J Bone Joint Surg Am 2005; 87A:1697-1705. This reports the results of a differing design of reverse prosthesis. Patient satisfaction was high. Complications were reported. Scapular notching was not seen with this design.
