Although possible, several lines of evidence suggest that the observed binding is not due to a minor glycoprotein impurity. First, the manufacturer states that the HSA is non-glycosylated, greater than 99 % pure, and essentially free of globulins. Second, binding to HSA was not observed with other lectins with similar specificity.
