    • Relations between Moscow and Tashkent have improved after Uzbekistan 'turned sides' following Western criticism in the wake of 'Andijan'. Both the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan are member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), together with China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan and Tajikistan.
