The SASOL Library was established in 1950 as a technical library to render an information service to SASOL, a large chemical company, which, with its strong focus on research and development, is an important and active partner in the academic library consortium. Although it operates under strict licensing agreements, it supports the company's social responsibility programme and contributes on various levels of supplying information.
