41. Mr. Jörgen Eriksson and Mr. Tommy Blomberg, Government of Åland (Ålands landskapsregering), Mariehamn, kindly gave us data on spring hunting on the Åland Islands. Mr. Seppo Niiranen, Mr. Jarmo Ruoho, and Mr. Jukka Haapala at the Ringing Centre, Finnish Museum of Natural History, picked out data on recovered and resighted ringed Finnish sea eagles. Mr. Haapala also drew Figure 1. From Dr. Björn Helander, Swedish Museum of Natural History, Stockholm, we got information of mortality factors in Sweden. The Baltic Sea Prize 1999, given to the Sea Eagle projects in Finland and Sweden by the Foundation for the Baltic, made these analyses economically possible. Since it started in 1972, the Sea Eagle project in Finland has been conducted within the aegis of WWF Finland. To all these we express our gratitude.
