We would like to emphasize that "high dilution" is an ambiguous term although it is often used by preparative chemists to denote a slow feed rate of the substrate into the reaction medium (e.g. by means of a syringe pump). A more accurate description of cyclization reactions, however, refers to the "effective molarity parameter" (EM), which is a quantitative measure of the propensity of a given substrate to cyclization.
