25. The spectral shape around 85 meV in the present study, i.e., two-peak structure, is different from that reported in Ref.. In the previous investigation, the YVO3 crystal was not correctly oriented. Perhaps, the Raman spectra in Fig. 3 in Ref. were dominated by the polarization configuration of y(zz) ȳ. As for the Raman band around 85 meV in the y(zz) ȳ polarization, the broad shape and the temperature dependence imply that this mode may be electronic in origin, closely related with the spin- and orbital-ordered state. 26. Recently, Sugai and Hirota have reported the Raman scattering study for YVO3 (Ref.). The experimental result in Ref. is in accord with the present one. However, their assignment of the orbiton band is different from ours.
