    • It is appropriate to note here that the width of the effective pulse is at least √2 times that of the pump pulse, as the probe pulse is usually generated from the same initial laser pulse without compression. The group velocity mismatch further increases the temporal width of the effective pulse. To our experience, the effective pulse width is usually close to twice the pump pulse width.
