    • In most experiments, type ES silica from Tosoh Quartz Inc. was used. To check consistency, separate samples from other manufacturers (Corning, Heraeus) were also studied, giving similar results.

    • Two simulation programs, Bruker SimFonia (manual parameter adjustment) and self- developed software (computer optimized parameters) were used. While the results were similar, a slightly better fit was achieved by the self-developed program, its output is used in this paper.
