Towards a framework for understanding the evolution of avian migration
-
Kristen Ruegg is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, and is interested in combining molecular, behavioural and GIS methods in the study of migratory songbird ecology and evolution. Her current research is focused on the role that differences in migratory behaviour play in the process of speciation in birds. Robert Hijmans is a GIS bioinformatics specialist at the University of California, Berkeley, and has broad research interests in biology, geography and the environmental sciences. He currently focuses on the use of modelling to predict past and future distributions of species. Craig Moritz is a Professor and director of the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at the University of California, Berkeley, and his research is currently devoted to exploring ways of combining information from surveys of molecular variation with data on demography and current or historical distributions in order to infer population process.
