    • The electron transfer between the dot and the lead modifies the filling in the latter. Hence the Fermi level is well defined only in the limit L → ∞. In the second peak in Figure 2c we have added electrons to the total system in order to minimize the change of filling in the lead. This improved the quality of the extrapolation, allowing to reach a peak value close to one.
