    • Molecular orbital calculation was done using commercial software, MOPAC. For optimizing geometrical configuration, we chose PM3 Hamiltonian. Successively, we calculated the excited states by INDO/S method. Then the optical absorption peak of 5CB molecular layer at the wavelength of 280 nm was attributed to the transition dipole excited from the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) to the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO)
