26. The calibration of the quartz microbalance by thermal desorption spectroscopy was required, since the position of the balance differed from that of the sample, leading to different deposition rates at both positions.

29. We note that the strain may be static due to the growth defects, but also partially thermally induced due a to different thermal contraction of structurally different regions in the sample upon cooling to the measurement temperature.
