    • State-of-the-art coupled ocean-atmospheric models predict stronger warming in the tropical troposphere than in mid-latitudes (9) and a poleward shift of the eddy-driven jets centered ∼45° latitude (10). A pattern like the recent trends, with strongest tropospheric warming centered ∼30° latitude, is not recovered in the simulations.
