    • This is not to argue that archivists have never before recycled or reused metadata from records management systems - there is in fact a long tradition of this, especially in Australia. The problem, however, has been that the separate standards and separate systems have made this more difficult than it should have been. With the emergence of new standards and new electronic systems we now have the opportunity to make this process as easy and as automatic as possible.
