Many studies have assessed the accuracy of FNA and frozen-section histopathology as separate diagnostic modalities, but this study is one of just a few to provide a direct comparison of these two techniques in a large cohort of patients with parotid masses.

This study is very helpful in identifying those salivary gland tumors most highly associated with false-positive and false-negative diagnoses.
