This paper analyzes the effects of a formal policy of ADM on the yield of organ donors at a major trauma center. ADM, which requires hands-on care and liberal use of critical care resources, is shown to dramatically improve organ donation parameters such as the number of potential donors and the number of organs procured.

This paper evaluates the use of ECMO as part of a protocol for organ donation after cardiac death. The authors report significant increases in organ donation parameters (number of potential donors, number of actual donors, number of transplants) following implementation of the protocol, with no increase in organ related morbidity.

This study analyzes the impact of a formal national allocation policy for expanded criteria donor kidneys. The use of ECD kidneys has increased substantially since institution of the policy, with no short-term increase in delayed graft function.
