In this database, the red tide is defined as the anomalous algal blooms resulting in a change of the color of seawater, including both the HABs and the diatom blooms thicker than the ordinary one. Similarly we define "diatom red tide" and "flagellates red tide" because their numbers practically indicate the dominance of the siliceous or the non-siliceous algae.
