Whole-brain T2 mapping demonstrates occult abnormalities in focal epilepsy
-
Rugg-Gunn FJ, Boulby PA, Symms MR, et al. Whole-brain T2 mapping demonstrates occult abnormalities in focal epilepsy. Neurology 2005; 64:318-325. This study demonstrates T2 abnormalities using statistical mapping in 23 out of 45 patients with cryptogenic epilepsy. The control group showed T2 increase not only in FCD but also in patients with nodular heterotopia raising the question of how specific T2 abnormalities are for subtypes of MCDs.
