98. According to Weiner, Flood! was unusual in many ways, mainly in that it did not have any dialogue or captions. The story is told completely through the images; its subtitle is "A Novel in Pictures." Although it looked more like an art book, it received major notices as a work of fiction, receiving an American Book Award and being short-listed for a National Book Award (p. 52).
