63. As sub-orders and groups were vastly reduced after the 1901 census, so these groups were amalgamated and reshuffled to adjust to the 1911 standardised scheme provided by Dr. Jacques Bertillon, a French statistician in 1907, thereby allowing for census comparisons across the Empire.
