11. One should bear in mind that the cross sections calculated in this way may not provide a good representation for the cross sections of the elastic scattering themselves. For the description of elastic scattering with a potential model, one has to introduce an optical potential whose imaginary part is extended to the surface region of the real part in order to simulate the inelastic processes.
