    • 1H NMR data for globostellatic acid D represent the 13E configuration, as shown by their reported chemical shifts for H-15 at 6.75 ppm and for Me-28 at 2.23 ppm, which are identical to our data for compound 4. Their indicated structure, which represents the 13Z configuration, should have chemical shifts of ca. 8.0 and 2.0 ppm for H-15 and Me-28, respectively. The difference in chemical shifts between the 13E and 13Z configurations has been previously reported in other isomalabaricane papers, as cited in this study.
