    • The ME effects with the H up to 1.7 T applied along the c axis was previously reported for Er Mn2 O5 by Kohn and his co-worker [H. Nakamura and K. Kohn, Ferroelectrics FEROA8 0015-0193 204, 107 (1997)], although their result appears different from the presently observed one. The highest field of 1.7 T in that study seems to be too small to complete the ferroelectric-to-X phase transition. In fact, the P shows hysteresis up to 3 T, as shown in Fig. 5.
