    • Similar measurements were also carried out in a reflection geometry. The R(ω) spectra of the same (wedged) sample showed almost negligible photoinduced change. However, R(ω) of another sample without a wedge exhibited a photoinduced decrease (not shown) very similar to A(ω) in Fig. 2. In this case, R(ω) contained the IR beam reflected from the rear face of the sample (hence, passing through the sample). These results demonstrate that the observed PIA is indeed due to a change in the absorption of STO, rather than that in the reflectivity.
