    • UV-vis absorption spectroscopy has been proved to be quite sensitive to elucidate the formation of silver colloids. An intense absorption peak around 400-440 nm is generally observed and attributed to the surface plasmon absorption of Ag nanoparticles. Such resonance occurs when the incident photon frequencies match with the collective oscillations of the metal nanoparticles.
