2-Deoxy-3,5-bis[O-(p-toluoyl)]-2-α-D-ribofuranosyl chloride 2 is easily accessible from 2-deoxyribose via its methylglycoside, followed by tosylation with toluoyl chloride, and subsequent chlorination with HCl/AcOH: Hoffer, M. Chem. Ber. 1960, 93, 2777-2781.

9-Azidoacridine has been recently reacted with hex-1-yne and 5-chloropent-1-yne, and the effect of solvent, temperature and alkyne stoichiometry on the yield of [1,2,3]triazoles has been investigated. The regioselectivity was established to 1.08-1.34 (hex-1-yne) and 1.52 (5-chloropent-1-yne) in favor of the sterically less hindered isomers. Cf. Hagan, D. J.; Chan, D.; Schwalbe, C. H.; Stevens, M.
