The mixture was stirred at room temperature and the reaction progress was monitored by TLC. After completion of the reaction, solvent was evaporated. Isolation of pure methyl phenyl sulfoxide (69 mg, 96% yield) from the resulting residue was accomplished by flash chromatography (hexane/ethyl acetate).
